EINSTAR VEGA — Wireless All-in-One 3D Scanning
The EINSTAR VEGA is a fully standalone wireless 3D scanner designed to simplify portable 3D scanning workflows without sacrificing flexibility or performance. Combining onboard computing, dual scanning technologies, integrated storage, and wireless connectivity into a compact handheld system, the VEGA is engineered for creators, engineers, designers, makers, and professionals who need mobile scanning capability across a wide range of applications.
Unlike traditional scanners that require a connected laptop during operation, the VEGA is designed as a self-contained scanning platform capable of capturing, processing, and managing scan data directly on the device itself. Its lightweight wireless architecture allows users to scan freely in studios, workshops, outdoor environments, and field applications without tethered limitations.
Fully Standalone Wireless Workflow
The EINSTAR VEGA is built around a complete all-in-one scanning system with integrated computing and onboard storage. Powered by an 8-core 2.4GHz processor with 32GB LPDDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD, the scanner handles acquisition and project management directly on the device without requiring an external PC during scanning.
A 6.4-inch 2K AMOLED touchscreen provides direct access to scanning controls, project management, and real-time data visualization. Wireless screen casting and wireless file transfer support additional flexibility for collaborative workflows and remote viewing.
The scanner also supports SHINING 3D Cloud integration for wireless data sharing, storage, and project management across devices.
Two Scanners in One
The VEGA combines two separate infrared scanning technologies into a single handheld platform. Fast Mode uses infrared VCSEL projection for medium-to-large object scanning with working distances ranging from 270 mm to 1500 mm, while HD Mode uses infrared MEMS technology for short-range high-detail scanning at distances between 100 mm and 350 mm.
This dual-system design allows the scanner to transition between large environmental capture and smaller detailed object scanning without changing hardware. Fast Mode supports capture speeds up to 20 FPS for larger scanning workflows, while HD Mode prioritizes detail acquisition with point distances down to 0.05 mm.
The combination of VCSEL and MEMS technologies enables the VEGA to cover a broad range of applications including automotive scanning, art and cultural preservation, cosplay, reverse engineering, 3D printing, and general-purpose object digitization.
Designed for Mobile Scanning
One of the VEGA’s primary advantages is portability. The scanner weighs approximately 535 grams and is designed for true handheld wireless operation. A built-in 5000mAh battery supports untethered scanning sessions, while external power bank charging can be used for extended operation.
The scanner is also designed for outdoor operation and strong lighting adaptability, supporting scanning in bright environments that often challenge traditional infrared systems. SHINING 3D highlights sunlight performance up to 100,000 lux, making the VEGA suitable for outdoor field scanning and large-object capture outside controlled studio conditions.
Users and community discussions frequently highlight the freedom of fully wireless scanning as one of the VEGA’s strongest advantages, particularly for outdoor scanning and large-object workflows where carrying a laptop and cables can become restrictive.
High-Resolution Color Capture
The EINSTAR VEGA includes a built-in 48MP RGB camera for full-color texture acquisition and realistic texture mapping. This allows scanned models to preserve both geometric structure and detailed surface appearance for visually complete digital models.
Supported export formats include PLY, STL, OBJ, and ASC, enabling compatibility with CAD software, 3D printing workflows, rendering platforms, and digital content creation tools.
Advanced Alignment and Workflow Features
The VEGA supports multiple alignment methods including feature alignment, texture alignment, marker alignment, and hybrid alignment modes. Additional workflow tools include scanning rewind, auto-detection of base planes, coordinate system adjustment, and model measurement functions directly within the scanning environment.
The scanner also supports larger 12 mm markers during large-object scanning workflows, reducing the total number of markers needed for alignment while improving efficiency during large-scale capture projects.
Flexible Scanning for Everyday and Professional Use
The EINSTAR VEGA is designed to bridge the gap between portability and capability by combining standalone operation, dual scanning systems, full-color capture, and onboard processing into a compact wireless platform.
Its ability to scan both small detailed objects and larger environments within a single untethered system makes it suitable for a wide range of workflows including automotive applications, digital art creation, cultural preservation, cosplay, reverse engineering, 3D printing, and general-purpose 3D digitization.
