EINSTAR VEGA — Wireless All-in-One 3D Scanning
Portable 3D Scanning Without the Laptop
The EINSTAR VEGA is a fully standalone wireless 3D scanner designed to make portable 3D capture easier without limiting users to a single type of object or workflow.
By combining onboard computing, two infrared scanning technologies, integrated storage, a high-resolution color camera, wireless connectivity, and a built-in touchscreen into one handheld system, the VEGA can handle scanning, processing, project management, and data storage directly on the device.
Instead of carrying a scanner, laptop, cables, and external power equipment from one project to the next, users can pick up the VEGA and begin scanning with a self-contained system.
This makes it a flexible option for creators, designers, educators, makers, automotive users, artists, preservation teams, and professionals who need to capture objects in workshops, studios, garages, outdoor environments, or other locations where a traditional tethered setup would be inconvenient.

Fully Standalone Scanning
The VEGA is built around an integrated computing platform rather than relying on a connected PC during capture.
Inside the scanner is an 8-core 2.4 GHz processor, 32GB of LPDDR4 memory, 32GB of eMMC system storage, and a 512GB SSD for scan projects. This hardware allows the scanner to acquire, process, and manage data directly on the device.
A 6.4-inch 2K AMOLED touchscreen provides direct access to scan settings, project management, live data, processing tools, and model review.
This means users can check scan coverage while standing next to the object rather than returning to a separate workstation to see whether an important area was missed.
The result is a more mobile workflow from beginning to end. Scan the object, review the data, process the project, and store the finished result without connecting the VEGA to a computer.
Two Scanners in One
One of the VEGA's defining features is its dual infrared scanning system.
Rather than using the same projection technology for every object, the scanner provides separate Fast and HD modes designed around different object sizes and levels of detail.
Fast Mode uses infrared VCSEL projection and is optimized for medium and large subjects. HD Mode uses infrared MEMS projection and provides a shorter-range, higher-detail workflow for smaller and medium-sized objects.
This gives users more flexibility than a scanner designed around only one capture range.
A large sculpture, vehicle interior, piece of furniture, or human subject can be captured using Fast Mode, while a smaller mechanical object, prop, artifact, or detailed product can be scanned with HD Mode.
The user can select the system that best matches the project instead of forcing every object into the same scanning workflow.
Lightweight Portable Design
The standard EINSTAR VEGA weighs approximately 535 grams and measures only 180 × 95 × 26.5 millimeters.
The compact design makes it easy to carry between locations and comfortable to use during handheld scanning.
A built-in 5000mAh battery supplies power during standalone operation, while external power-bank charging is supported for longer scanning sessions. The scanner also supports 65-watt fast charging through PD/PPS-compatible power equipment.
Continuous operation while charging gives users another option for longer stationary or field projects.

48-Megapixel Full-Color Capture
Geometry is only part of many 3D scanning projects.
The EINSTAR VEGA includes a built-in 48-megapixel RGB camera designed to capture detailed color information alongside the scanned geometry.
Full-color texture capture is useful for art, cultural preservation, digital archiving, people scanning, product visualization, virtual content, game assets, and other applications where the appearance of the physical object needs to be preserved.
Surface graphics, paint, labels, discoloration, patterns, and material differences can all contribute information that would be lost in an untextured geometric model.
For engineering and 3D printing projects where color is unnecessary, users can still focus on geometry alone.
Built for Outdoor Scanning
Infrared scanners can struggle in bright environments because sunlight contains significant infrared energy.
The VEGA is designed with strong environmental-light adaptability and is rated for outdoor scanning, including sunlight conditions up to approximately 100,000 lux.
This expands the types of environments where the scanner can be used.
Large sculptures, vehicles, architecture, outdoor installations, equipment, and objects that cannot easily be transported indoors can be captured in the field.
As with any optical scanner, more controlled lighting can still improve difficult projects, but the VEGA gives users substantially more freedom than systems designed primarily around indoor operation.
Advanced Alignment and Workflow Features
The VEGA supports multiple alignment methods including feature alignment, texture alignment, marker alignment, and hybrid alignment modes. Additional workflow tools include scanning rewind, auto-detection of base planes, coordinate system adjustment, and model measurement functions directly within the scanning environment.
The scanner also supports larger 12 mm markers during large-object scanning workflows, reducing the total number of markers needed for alignment while improving efficiency during large-scale capture projects.
Flexible Scanning for Everyday and Professional Use
The EINSTAR VEGA is designed to bridge the gap between portability and capability by combining standalone operation, dual scanning systems, full-color capture, and onboard processing into a compact wireless platform.
Its ability to scan both small detailed objects and larger environments within a single untethered system makes it suitable for a wide range of workflows including automotive applications, digital art creation, cultural preservation, 3D printing, and general-purpose 3D digitization.
